Summers over and autumn is here, a time when trees shed their leaves in order to preserve and protect itself in getting through the coming harsh winter months. When spring comes it’s time for the tree to bud again and full blossom is ready for the summer months. This is somewhat similar to the cycle of our skin care. We need to up our skin care in the autumn getting our skin ready and protected for the harsh winter climate. All that wind, rain, frost, aircon, central heating and blazing open fires have a huge effect on the condition of our skin. Wither it’s a case of been too tired to put a cream on in the mornings (and believe you me, I know how hard it is to get out of the bed in a dark cold winters morning..Ughhhh), or to be sitting near the fire while watching TV or heat on full blast when you’re in the car. Whatever it may be, your skin will be drying out, clogging up or becoming super red and sensitive every second you’re not looking after it. So stop with the excuses, keep it simple and you will be thanking yourself come spring when your skin is gleaming and looking fresh.
All the creams in the world won’t do much for your skin if you’re not keeping yourself hydrated; moisturisers are there not only to protect but also to hold in water for hydration and protection of collagen & elastin and ridding the body of nasty toxins that can show on the skin, so 2 litres a day. Even the basic of skin maintenance will help, along with a few facials a year for that deeper clean. Always have a beauty therapist analyse your skin to make sure you’re on the correct skincare suitable for your skin type/problems.
Every day: cleanser or face wash, depending on skin type to remove make-up, dirt, bacteria, ect from skin, apply suitable moisturiser/serum.
Every 10-14 days: add in to your daily routine a facial scrub suitable for your skin type and apply mask for about an hour, you don’t have to be relaxing for this you can still go cleaning or watching TV while it’s on.
How easy is that, and all you’ve bought is 4 things and 2 of them will last you a year (Scrub&Mask), your moisturiser/serum should last 3-6months and your cleanser/wash should last 3-6 months depending if you wear alot of makeup. Your scrub is an important part as it removes all the layers of dead skin cells to allow your mask and moisturiser to sink into skin, otherwise it will sit on top of dead skin doing nothing. All of those things only take 2 seconds to put on.
