Spring is here and fashion and beauty trends are going all out with a emphasis on warm colours. Playing up features such as the lip with a bold red/orange lipstick (MAC’s Lady Danger is a classic orange/red) or winged gel and liquid liner, nude lips (Lancôme Juicy Tube in Melon is perfect for this natural lip look) and matt bronzed blusher to finish. Soft contouring is looking to take over the previous trend of sharp Kim Kardashion style contouring. Brows are kept tidy and full with more structure in the shaping and lighter brown colouring.
Nails are been kept short and neat with both bold colours and pale nudes dominating the runways. Orangey reds, neon blues, royal blues, teals, blush pinks, slate greys are mostly popular this spring/summer. Tans are looking to stay on the light – light/med this year nothing to dark.
It’s like an almost mixed type of fashion trend that’s around this year with a splash of bright print and elegant but captivating patterns, strong block colours and muted pastel earth tones, so beauty is taking a softer more ethereal path to accompany the very mixed fashion trends which is a bonus for us mere mortals as there is less emphasis on been that polished off the runway look that takes hours of make up to cover and days of preparation to achieve.
Skin however is flawless, dewy and hydrated and we all know that the best way to achieve this is with consistent skin care and plenty of water. A great base for makeup is a good primer which is great for softening lines and wrinkles (Thalion Beauty Flash Lift Mask is a brilliant product for this, it’s an anti-aging mask that doubles up as a primer, we use it for all our make-ups and is sold in salon, €30 for a 50ml bottle, last ages). Keep your skincare simple and you will be much more inclined to keep it consistent, and I can’t stress how important it is too drink water, it’s so simple and basic that people forget very easy but it makes the biggest impact on your skin.
And here’s one tip that every woman should do, spring clean your make up bag and brushes along with your house, you would be surprised how old some products are in there and how
Quick bacteria breaths, you wouldn’t eat a slice of bread left for 8-9 months, so why would you put something on your skin/eyes/lips that’s open that long that you’ve been dipping your hands in…yuck…Think about it…. 😉
