How can I get the best out of my tan and if I’m going on holiday should I go for a darker one than I normally get?
Get the best out of every spray tan by taking care of your skin first. Exfoliate with mitt or brush in the shower, and cream after with nourishing; body cream preferable, paraben, mineral oil, perfume, sulphate alcohol free, as all these ingredients tend to do the opposite and dry out the skin, so stay natural. Olive, grape seed, sweet almond oil are a good alternative. Any waxing should be done 48 hours previous to tan application, and shaving can be done the night before. Ban all deodorants, creams, and tight clothes off the body the day of your tan (i.e. socks & bra straps). Bring loose tracksuit top, bottoms, flip-flops, and umbrella with you for after. Always go slightly lighter or the same on tan for holidays as pores get blocked up with creams and you sweat more in heat so the darker you go the more you will see it going patchy and a dark tan doesn’t last any longer than a light or medium tan, which is a major misconception of most people.
How do I know if I’m using the right skin care?
Unless your a trained Beauty Therapist or Dermatologist you cannot diagnose skin type, which adds to a lot of money losses and skin problems on the consumer as they spend twice the amount on cheaper big brand stores where no one is aware of skin type or ingredients which do nothing for their skin, only clog up their bathroom with allot of useless bottles of skincare products. Go to your local salon and ask about having a facial even if its a mini facial. The therapist will still go through a thorough skin analysis with you and advise you on what products, etc. will be best suited for your skin type, along with plenty of tips to keep the spending budget down. It’s more logical to have one good bottle of moisturiser that suits the needs of your skin, than 10 bottles of creams that don’t as it ends up costing you more in the end.
What’s better about ‘Airbase’ Make-Up?
Because Airbase was commissioned by Judy Naaké from St. Tropez self-tan and designed by Oscar nominated make-up artist Ann Buchannan, it was specifically designed to make the person wearing it look airbrushed and flawless on ‘HD’ (High Definition) screens and lenses, i.e. film camera and photography. As we all know HD is able to pick up any flaws so with Airbase you don’t have to worry about this any more. It has a silicone based primer with loads of anti-ageing, anti-oxidants, hydraulic acid, and aloe vera in it to insure your skin is protected from blocked pores allowing your skin to breath. With our spray technology we can customise the foundation colour to suit every individual skin colour/shade. Once its sprayed on, its left to dry while we finish doing your eye make-up (including lashes), then a bit of blush and lippy and your photograph ready for your special day, party or any occasion, no worrying about blemishes, spots, dark circles etc.
What is Threading?
Threading is better in the long run for your skin as it takes the hair including the blonde fluffy hair, which a tweezer can’t get unless you spend hours doing your brows. Yet it doesn’t take any layer of skin with it, which over time effects the amount of collagen and elastin produced in that area, thus causing a slackening of the eye lid, lines of the lip etc. Alot of our clients alternate their appointments between waxing and threading, however allot have now changed completely over to threading claiming they get longer time out of it and the redness goes down in minutes instead of hours. Threading can be done anywhere on the face and does not require a patch test which suits allot of drop-in clients.
How does a two week manicure work?
It’s a gel based system without the false extension glued on, so there is no damage to the nail. The two week manicure, i.e. Shellac, Gelish etc. are applied to the natural nail once its cleaned off of all cuticle and each coat is cured under UV/LED lamp. You can have them in French Polish or any colour you like. Once they’re done which only takes approx. 30 mins they’re completely dry and smudge free with a high shine finish. Once your two weeks are over just call back in to remove them which only takes 10 mins.
